Work is well underway at what will be the largest of the Polaris World Resorts. The Jardines de Alhama area is starting to take shape and cranes are already in place in the Naranjos area. The new road network is also making fast progress: the AP7 coastal motorway is now open as well as a dual carriageway connecting Mazarron to Totana. Over the last few weeks, the area by the new road alongside Condado has been planted with a large number of trees, include olive trees. A Polaris sponsored expedition to the Artic is taking place in August and September 2007. The expedition has 3 objectives: 1) to be the first Spanish climbers to climb Mount Stetind, a difficult tower of rock and snow 2) a Polar diving expedition, forming a documentary on the Svalbard islands 3) a study of climate change by scientists and students.
