Location
All the Polaris World resorts are located in the region of Murcia on a coastline called the ‘Costa Calida’ (the warm coast). Murcia has its own airport and is also about 1 hour south of Alicante airport. There are direct flights to Murcia from all over the UK and the region’s new international airport is due to open in 2009.
Murcia is a beautiful region of Spain with miles of sandy beaches, historic Spanish towns and lots of things to do.
Location of the resorts
All the 7 Polaris World resorts are close to each other, which means that you can easily access all of the facilities available, including the wide range of bars and restaurants and the golf courses. There is a free shuttle bus which connects all the resorts and next year there will also be the Polaris Beach Club.
From all the resorts, it is easy to access the Mar Menor, the large inland sea with its calm waters and safe beaches. The Mar Menor is popular with water-sports enthusiasts and families and it is possible to make boat trips out to the islands.
Murcia and Cartagena are the principal towns in the area, which have beautiful traditional centres. They both have numerous bars and restaurants and also have all the shopping facilities you may need. Recently Ikea has opened a large store in Murcia and there is a large Carrefour in Cartagena.
